I had the pleasure of giving a workshop at Vepa, a leading sustainable furniture company based in Emmen, the Netherlands. Their latest innovation—a chair made using discarded jute coffee bags from coffee roasting company Peeze as seat material—is a fantastic example of the Circular Economy in action.
I tested the prototype, and it not only looks great but is also incredibly comfortable. This cooperation between a furniture factory and a coffee company is truly inspiring, showcasing how waste material from one company can be a valuable resource for the next.
The two companies became connected through a network event. If you want Akili Green to look for unusual suspects for your waste stream or production materials, contact us.
